Attracting around 20,000 visitors a month, this high-profile website was extremely popular but it was slowing down and was in need of a makeover. So when its owner, BID Leamington, asked us to put on our creative caps, we were delighted. The new site had to be responsive, show off the assets of Royal Leamington Spa to their max, have a categorised directory for over 400 town centre stores and be able to promote special offers available in those stores. The website also needed to be easy for the team at BID Leamington to update, as content about the town’s events and offers would be changing all the time.
Being avid visitors and town centre residents of Royal Leamington Spa ourselves, we set to work analysing the type of content that we would like to see. We also researched other significant “place” websites: what did they do well; which navigation structures worked; was it easy to find the type of store we wanted?
For us, clear navigation was going to be key plus the ability to put fast-moving events and news front and centre on the website. And, with the BID team loading hundreds of special offers every quarter, the back-end had to be easy to use.

Taking WordPress as our platform, the team at Identity Studio developed a new version of this very popular website. As well as looking fabulous and being easy to navigate, it is also now fully ‘responsive’. This means that the site will alter its appearance to maximise viewing on a mobile or tablet device.
Complete with an Events Calendar, Stores Directory, Special Offers and even separate Student Offers, the new Royal Leamington Spa website now attracts over 26,000 unique visitors per month.
